Love Truly: Elsie Unuane & Okwudire Ordor Wed

Elsie Unuane and Okwudire Ordor had travelled to Nigeria for his brother’s wedding, after the celebration, Okwudire went back to London while Elsie stayed in Nigeria for the rest of the summer holiday.
So you can only imagine her surprise when one quiet evening,  after a day out with friends, she arrived back home and saw Okwudire in her house! Elsie was so confused and kept asking what he was doing there…his response? In the presence of her mother and sisters, he knelt on one knee and said “I came all this way babe to ask you if you will marry me” and of course, she said “YES”.
That was the beginning of Elsie and Okwudire’s wedding journey….
On the 24th of December 2011, Elsie and Okwudire said “I Do” in the presence of their loved ones, family and friends.
The joyous occasion was a total fairytale experience.
The bride was breathtaking in her stunning lace dress by Suzanne Neville. The ivory corded lace dress with a fitted corset, beaded belt and full tulle skirt was a perfect fit for the beautiful bride. Elsie completed her bridal look with a standout hairpiece and lace sleeves for the wedding ceremony. Okwudire complemented his blushing bride in a sleek black Tuxedo by Tom Ford paired with a black tie. After their ceremony, the celebration transitioned to the reception venuewhich looked amazing with ivory, champagne and gold hues giving it a refreshingly serene yet glamorous vibe.  The rest of the day was filled with even more well-wishes, prayers, dancing, lots of fun including surprise performances by Paul Play Dairo and Wizkid.
It was a fabulous day celebrating Elsie and Okwudire’s love!
BN wishes Elsie & Okwudire the very best of love, life, happiness and God’s favour together as one.

How Uleyi & Itu Met
by Uleyi
Itu and I met in Calabar. We had mutual friends and occasionally bumped into each other at events. At times, he would say hi to me. I wasn’t particularly amused by his attempts to be friendly…but being the smart guy that he is, he took my aloofness in stride and waited for the perfect opportunity to make his move. It came when he needed a model for his business calendar. He got my number from a friend and called to set up a meeting during which I turned down his request.
I remember warning him never to call me again and walking away in a dramatic huff. He conceded for six months and then…
One night, he called me with a hidden Caller ID. I thought it was someone else, a ‘toaster’ who had a penchant for calling at that time. I was ill so I didn’t notice that the caller’s voice was different. We talked for a long time. It seemed very normal and familiar, and while this might sound like a cliché, it truly felt as if I was talking to someone I had known all my life. Funnily enough, it didn’t dawn that there was something odd about the conversation. He called at the same time the next day, this time with a visible Caller ID, and I was furious that he had the nerve to call at such an ‘inappropriate’ hour. I complained to my sister but answered the phone anyway, and after a string of increasingly embarrassing follow-up questions, I realized that he was the person I had spoken to the previous night. One phone call led to another, then to our first date.
Our relationship evolved naturally, with support and encouragement from our friends and families. Itu is a wonderful person (he says I’m more wonderful than he is and who am I to argue!) and I’m a better person for having him in my life.
The Proposal!
It was December 2010, a day of blue skies and sunlight on a beach in Cape Coast, Ghana. Itu and I were on holiday with my sister. We had dated for five years at the time. We were by the shore, soaking in the tide..or rather our clothes were. He asked me to help him remove something from his pocket as his hands were sandy.
I reached in and pulled out a little black box.
As soon as I realized what it was, I ran. I’ve never run so fast in my life.
My sister – who wasn’t part of the plan but quickly caught on – proved that an athletic gene runs in our family by chasing me. It was all so melodramatic – me running and yelling, my sister running after me and yelling, Itu running after both of us and yelling – to the delight and amusement of some tourists who clicked away at their cameras gleefully. I suspect that we became the subject of several blog posts like Three People You Should Avoid While On Holiday and Tropical Proposal Gone Wild.
Anyway, she caught up with me and got me to calm down. When Itu was sure that I wouldn’t pull a Florence Griffith-Joyner on him again, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so shy. I couldn’t say yes until he got up. By then people had gathered to say congrats and take more pictures of the runaway bride and her steadfast groom. Later, we shared the happy news with our family and friends and our journey to the altar began.

Love was all around on the 19th of November 2011 as Uleyi Sandra Ushie prepared to walk down the aisle to meet her beau Charles Itu. The model bride looked exquisite in the mermaid silhouette wedding dress. The lace trimmings of her dress was the perfect complement to her feathered birdcage veil and lush red rose bouquet. Her handsome groom Itu complemented her in his 3-piece black suit paired with a tie in his bride’s favourite colour – red. Itu and Uleyi were joined together as husband and wife at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in the presence of their family and close friends.
After the wedding, everyone proceeded to the “rouge paradise” themed reception at Monty Suites in Calabar. As expected, there were touches of hot red and silver all around the venue. Uleyi and Itu thoroughly savoured their special day while guests enjoyed a thrilling day filled with great food, laughter and most importantly, love!
BN wishes Uleyi and Itu a blessed life together filled with love and happiness.

How Chika & Ikenna Met
By Chika
We met in the Summer of 2003 at a wedding, this wasn’t love at first sight or any of that, he came off a little cheesy but  very intelligent. We kept in touch and over the years became good friends. The calls got more frequent – lasting longer and longer. In 2006, he asked to visit and after much hesitance I succumbed and he flew in to Houston from New Jersey. Needless to say he swept me of my feet the second time around. Ultimately, It was all so simple.
By Ikenna
I met Chika at a wedding reception in Maryland, sometime in 2003. The first time I saw Chika she was sitting at a table with a group of adults, looking so beautiful in a purple dress. I felt she could use some company, so I walked up to her and invited her to come and hang with the rest of the young folks in the hallway. I don’t recall the words that we spoke that day, but I recall one thing that happened, that looking back serves as a glimpse into our future. While talking to me, she accidentally dropped a ring which she was twiddling. As any gentleman would, I picked up the ring, and as the unabashed young man that I was, I placed the ring on her ring finger. I don’t know anymore if she smiled, or rolled her eyes, but knowing Chi, she was probably rolling her eyes on the inside.

She’s The One!
by Ikenna
As the years passed we kept in touch over the phone, but there came a time in my life when I turned to God to guide my future. I said a prayer asking God to lead me to the one whom he made for me, someone whom I could love and grow old with. Then I remembered the young lady in the purple dress, a person who shared my aspirations and whose drive was unmatched by none. So I tried over and over and over again until she agreed that it was okay for me to visit her, the rest is history. I thank God for her and his blessings in our lives, I know that he will walk with us forever.
He’s The One!
by Chika
Everything happened as though it was all planned from the beginning, the right time and right state of mind.
Not trying to sound cliche but he was everything I asked God for. Fast forward after 3 years of dating long distance we are married!

As they prepared to celebrate the most special day of their lives, Chika & Ikenna were filled with joy and anticipation. In her gorgeous embellished strapless ruched crystal organza wedding dress with its floating tiered train and corseted back plus an added unique touch – beautiful purple shoes, Chika was an absolutely stunning bride.
The sight of his bride in her wedding dress with her hair in an elegant bridal updo with a floaty chiffon veil and clutching a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers took Ikenna’s breath away as he watched her walk down the aisle towards him. With his best man and groomsmen by his side, Ikenna watched with love as Chika joined him at the altar.
Their wedding blessing was powerful and inspirational – Chika & Ikenna committed to love and honour each other forever. After the ceremony, they celebrated with happy friends and family and then proceeded to their wedding reception. As they entered their wedding reception venue which was elegantly decorated with touches of their wedding colours – Sangria purple and gold, Chika & Ikenna’s guests danced and joyously celebrated with them. It was a great day filled with lots of special and romantic moments. A truly fabulous day for a very special couple
BN wishes Chika and Ikenna a lifetime of blessings, success, love & joy!

White Wedding
Traditional Wedding
Chika and Ikenna’s traditional wedding was filled with colour, tradition and lots of fun! Their traditional wedding ceremony was based on Arochukwu traditions, as the bride’s mom is from Ajalli in Anambra State. The beautiful bride was placed in a room – dressed and adorned in her traditional attire with two ‘maidens’. No man was allowed to enter the room without paying. It was so much fun as Chika and Ikenna’s friends and relatives entered the room to pay homage to the bride. Finally Ikenna came to visit and then left to await his bride. The traditional Igba Nkwu Nwanyi ceremony was performed as Chika went in search of her prince, she found him and presented him with a glass of wine which he accepted. The couple then danced and enjoyed a thrilling party with their friends and family.

What’s Your Dream Bridal Look?

The Princess Bride
The Princess Bride truly evokes a fairytale princess on her big day. To create this look, search for a dress with a corseted top, cinched waist and a voluminous train. You can choose to go all the way by accessorizing with a tasteful  tiara (emphasis on tasteful to avoid looking like you are in costume for a role) . Alternatively, hairpiece which mimics the crown effect will do the trick.

By “romantic”, we mean the romantic era, the aesthetic is defined by luxurious fabrics and decadent accessories including fur shrugs, gloves and long or dramatic trains. A Promise to Love: Abisola Abiola Ajimobi & Kolapo Kola-Daisi Wed

Love takes over when you least expect it but when you find it and you know it is true love then you treasure it forever. Abisola Abiola-Ajimobi andKolapo Kola-Daisi‘s love story started with a cap, yes – a cap. Though Bisola and KP had previously met in passing, it was not until Bisola helped a family friend deliver a cap (fila for a wedding) to KP, that their love story truly began. After that brief meeting then a surprise call from KP, they began talking and almost instantly they knew they had both found a rare treasure – each other.
Before long they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, they even started discussing and planning their dream wedding. KP proposed after Bisola returned from a trip, he reaffirmed his love and commitment to her proposed to her with the ring of her dreams and she said “Yes!”.
After their engagement ceremony on the 5th of November 2010, Bisola and KP’s fairytale wedding took place on 6th of November 2010 in Ibadan, Nigeria. It was a beautiful ceremony as the Islamic wedding rites were completed and Bisola and KP were joined as husband and wife in the presence of their family and friends. Bisola was breathtaking in her stunning white hand-beaded Swarovski crystal embellished dress with a cathedral length train and veil by Zuhair Murad. She simply glowed all through the ceremony. KP was handsome in a midnight blue dinner suit paired with a black crystal encrusted tie.
Bisola and KP’s wedding reception was a glamorous fairytale scene, with the bride’s favourite colours, pink and lavender adorning the venue. After the couple danced in and cut their cake, there was another surprise on the cards! US R&B Soul singer, Kenny Lattimore serenaded Bisola and KP as they enjoyed their first dance. After that, KP took the mic and performed his favorite song for his bride, Bisola. She could not hide her glee and excitement as she danced and smiled happily. From them on, it was more fun, laughter and love as the couple danced and enjoyed their special day.
BN wishes Abisola & Kolapo a blessed and fruitful marriage and wonderful life together as one.
