Swearing By My Colored Skinnies

The colored skinny jean trend is more than on my radar, it's hanging in my closet! As a must for this season, colored skinnies are in every direction I look. Pair them with anything -- florals, stripes, brights, any prints -- and you'll be good to go. Colored skinnies are simple to color block and they'll even look stylish with a plain blouse and wedges, or any chic shoes for that matter. These trousers are a fashion go-to this season for just about any occasion. There isn't an excuse not to own a pair!
The thing I find most fun about colored skinnies is all of the options that are available. You can think to yourself, "I want blue skinny jeans,"and you get to the store and there are more shades of blue than you had ever imagined. But that's the beauty of it! You could choose from mint or turquoise or aqua, which will help you narrow down what you really want.

Nobody said color automatically meant bright! And that's just why peach and coral tones are perfect for colored skinnies, too. As you can see, with any brown shoe, these jeans look fabulous.Whether it be a pump, wedge or boot, the pants look great. As more of a neutral tone, there are even more specific shades of salmon than just salmon. You could go a bit on the darker, more conservative side (left), a bright, washed out looking tone (center), or even a light shade with a pink accent (right). Whichever it may be, pair it up with a chic spring top and your outfit will earn you an A+ in anything. You know what they say, if you look good, then you feel good! And if that's the case, then I say you'll do good.
Color up your wardrobe, pretty please

Cover-Up With Style in Mind

With the recent wave of warm weather, I simply can't get beachwear off my mind. I'm counting down the days until I can mix spring and summer styles into poolside apparel.  Swimsuit cover-ups with prints, color blocking, black and white tones, and floral patterns are a "must" for summertime. A stylish bathing suit is half the look; the A+ beach look is complete with a chic cover-up. Long, short, and even romper style cover-ups are necessary items and make for the perfect summertime staples.

Behold, fourteen irresistible cover-ups that should make their way into your wardrobe for this [upcoming] summer. A variety of details, colors, and patterns are trending, so it's easy to find something suitable for your personal style.

Black and white cover-ups are the perfect combination for any suit that matches. A solid color would look best under these styles, but if the black and white is solid, a printed suit can often look chic, as well. But with patterns, it's best to keep it simple. Also, try to avoid having a million straps everywhere from your swimsuit and cover-up... That NEVER looks good.
I can't get enough of these bright styles. They're very stylish when matched with the correct swimwear, and very fun, too. I love how there are a couple of longer styles, too, and this is great because they can compliment just about any body type. It's important to choose a style that's just right for your bathing suit and your body. Wearing something well is the first step to looking fabulous. I digress, back to bright business! So, with the printed bright cover-ups, I think a solid bathing suit would look best just so there isn't too much going on. The same goes for a solid cover-up, this would look great with a printed suit. It would even look great with a solid. But when using bright statement colors like these, make sure you don't overdo it. Keep it simple, it's just swimwear.
Blue and green are huge summer hues. With so many swim suits in these colors, a cover-up that matches would be a great investment. First off, let's agree that mixing prints isn't pretty. So it's smart to shy away from bold printed bathing suits when trying out a cover-up like the ones pictured above. With blues and greens, all that you need to do is match the color, make sure it isn't too busy, and you're good to go. Remember not to mix too many colors.

Take this advice and build the best summer wardrobe you can. By looking good this summer, you'll feel good. And with those two things, it'll be impossible not to have a great summer. Remember the rules: always match and never clash. Do this, and I'll be proud.
xx, sweet

Searching For My [sole] Mate

It's safe to say I'm quite the shoe fanatic. Right now, I'm trying to focus, but I can't stop planning out my shopping trip for tomorrow morning, I need to find the perfect pair of new wedges. I can already hear my mom's voice saying I already have too many pair, but when has that ever stopped me? Anyway, back to my shoe addiction. With the warm weather comes so many more footwear options. It's more fun to get fancied up in the shoe department when you can show off your pampered and pedicured toesies. But springtime is a dangerous season for me, and my wallet would agree. I can rarely pass up a cute pair of springtime shoes without falling in love. The shoes pictured below are all very expensive, but if you search hard enough in T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, you'll be sure to land a great deal on fabulous shoes. That's my secret to shoe obsession. As I search for my "sole mate" this spring, I'm destined to find the perfect pair of shoes. Let's just call it footwear fate.

I know, I can't choose just one pair either. But from this "list" per se, of shoes above, I've chosen a few of my favorite styles, and locked them in my head to remember next time I'm out shopping. Similar styles to these shoes are just about everywhere and I'm confident that you'll be able to find something you love, just like these kicks, for much less! Wouldn't you rather have two pairs of shoes for the price of one than pay a lot just for one? The more shoes the merrier! And the better chance you have of finding your sole mate. Get it? Sole... Don't mind my corny jokes. Just get to the mall and find the perfect spring kicks.Put some spring in your step, ladies.
