If you're like most fans, you probably can't wait for "The Hunger Games" to come out on March 23. But there is one hidden drawback: What are you going to do with all your free time once you no longer have "The Hunger Games" to look forward to?
Luckily, Warner Bros. feels your pain and they have the perfect solution: The upcoming adaptation of the young adult fantasy bestseller "Beautiful Creatures," which according to Variety has just added Emmy Rossum to the star studded cast.
Let the countdown begin.
Or rather, let the countdown continue; after all, "Beautiful Creatures" — which is based on the 2009 novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl — is nearly ready to begin filming, with an expected theatrical release set for Feb. 1, 2013.
But with "Hunger Games" mania pretty much monopolizing everyone's attention, it's possible you might not have heard much about "Beautiful Creatures," so here's how Rossum fits into the picture: According to Variety, she'll play Ridley, a lollipop wielding teenage witch who harbors a grudge against the main character, fellow "Caster" Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert).
And Rossum, who has been tearing it up on the HBO series "Shameless" after eanring a Golden Globe nomination back in 2005 for "The Phantom of the Opera," is just the latest heavy hitter in a cast that already includes Oscar nominee Viola Davis and two time Oscar winner Emma Thompson.
Looks like we all have something to look forward to after all.
