Bright Lips
While we usually see bold eyes as a Fall/Winter fashion applique, this bold and beautiful trend is staying in tow for spring. Whether it’s smudged or intricately drawn into a wing shape (for a cat-eyed), good eyeliner will keep you on the hot end of the beauty barometer.
This next trend is one that I envy girls for being able to pull off without the assistance of a brow pen or powder (like I have to do). Full brows were in full tow at the Fashion shows. I totally think the bold black brows gives you an in-your-face a daring look; plus what better way to stand out.
Neutral Nails
While there were a few colorful nail designs that hit the runways, the biggest nail trend was absolutely neutral nails. On the runways of the New York, London and Paris pretty pinks, pastels, mute browns and shades of gray overshadowed the long, neon designed nails that have been all the rage for months past. Spring nails will take a more laid back approach as short, rounded nudes and neutral shades take the lead.
Glowing Skin
The African Safaris and look of the sun-kissed, gleaming skin of a desert beauty was a leading look at this year’s shows. Michael Kors, Vera Wang, and BCBG Max Azria all took to the warming rays of Mother Nature as inspiration for skin illuminating makeup looks. Bronzer and highlighter are the go-to tools to create the look of your own gorgeous glow.
Retro Buns
Pretty ponies and cascading curls will never go out of style, but fab buns are also timeless beauty staples. Always a fan of gorgeous buns and ponies, I was elated to see the awesome 60’s-inspired mod buns in braids and human hair adorned with vibrant headbands and pretty flowers at the Arise Magazine Fashion Week 2012. I also loved the sleek buns with a side part at theSunny Rose show.
