Ciara – ‘That’s My Boy’ LA Premiere

Ciara also attended the ‘That’s My Boy’ premiere, held at the Regency Village Theatre Westwood, California, yesterday evening. I’m not sure what’s going on with Ciara these days, but her red-carpet choices aren’t as great as they used to be. The singer wore a head-to-toe all-white look.

Her open shirt with a gold necklace is fine, but I have to question the python jeans and white Christian Louboutin ‘Daffodilie’ pumps – our second sighting of these pumps today. White python jeans? Is she serious?  A gold cuff, nude lips, natural nails and a side-parted blonde ombre hairdo with a random fishtail plait completed her look.

Beyonce Knowles In Carven & Vionnet – Shopping In Paris

Beyonce Knowles is currently in Paris, France, as her hubby Jay-Z is currently on his ‘Watch The Throne’ tour. She was spotted out in the city wearing a colourful look. When in Rome, or Paris, you do as Parisians do, so Bey wore a head-to-toe look by Parisian designers. She wore a Carven Spring 2012 blouse with a cool multi-coloured zig-zag print. Her eclectic blouse was paired with Vionnet fluorescent pink loose-fitted tapered pants. Nude Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pumps and ‘Status’ sunglasses by LA-based Grey Ant accessorized her look.I absolutely love this look. Bey’s street style can be hit-or-miss, but this is most definitely a hit for me.

In Happy-To-Be-Thickums White Folks News: Kelly Clarkson Says She Doesn’t Want To Be “Leann Rimes” Skinny

What doesn’t kill her made her stronger     Kelly Clarkson Covers Redbook, Talks Not Wanting To Be Skinny:
Kelly Clarkson has plenty advice for her Duets partners on how to perform like a music superstar. And now she’s revealing how she got that slimmer figure. “I do cardio. I run. I strength-train using my own body weight,” the first American Idol winner tells Redbook for its July issue. “I don’t like free weights, because I build muscle easily.” Clarkson, 30, points out that shaping up is all about finding what’s right for you. “Really, what I try to instill in my fans is to be healthy and happy,” she says. “I have no desire to be super-skinny.” The singer also talked about the difference between Idol, her new show Duets, and wanting to quit music As for imparting tips to up-and-coming singers on her show, she says she’s giving the Duets contestants something she never had on Idol.“I’m going to be completely honest – I had no one looking out for me. They were looking out for the show, and it was horrible,” she says. “I was 19 years old. I was smart enough to know that it wasn’t about me, but that didn’t make it any easier. I’m all cried out about it, but my first four years, I hated my life; I almost quit a dozen times.”Aww poor thang. Way to rep for the thicky-thick jawns though Kells.

Barack Obama Covers ESSENCE Magazine

Essence Magazine Obama
President Barack Obama is talking that re-election talk in the July issue of ESSENCE Magazine:
President Barack Obama is on the cover of ESSENCE’s July issue (on stands June 12th) in a piece called “Looking Forward.” Here, he speaks exclusively to ESSENCE about his plan to improve the economy, our health, homes and future—and why he’s excited about the next four years. This month’s issue also features a special salute to military families from First Lady Michelle Obama. In addition, ESSENCE’s piece, “Back in the U.S.A.” highlights soldiers from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team for Operation New Dawn who are adapting to life at home and celebrating July 4th with their family and friends.
Here’s a quote from the article:
“I’ve always approached my presidency as a long-term proposition…I didn’t run for office just to clean up the mess I inherited. I didn’t run for office just to return to the status quo. Understanding that some of the things I get done, we may not see the benefits from them for ten years. But that’s how change happens…” —President Barack Obama, ESSENCE (July 2012 Issue)

Change is hard to come by, except it seems when it comes to people’s attitude’s toward Obama. Doesn’t it seem like a lot of people have lost their faith in him? Do you think he’ll be able to regain momentum by next November?

Style du Jour: Mint Madness

Colors have always been a big part of fashion. Different colors pop up in all four seasons, and I always come to a love a color that I never thought I would. This spring/summer, I've learned to love mint. It's an easy color to wear whether your skin and hair is light or dark, and it's a very soft tone. Soft tones are perfect for warmer months because you can wear them outside and keep [somewhat] cool. Mint also matches many other colors, so it's not hard to add bold accessories and shoes. I've seen mint in blouses, khakis, dresses and jewelry, and I've loved it in every form. It's dressy and casual. I love the variety!
See, mint has a lot of opportunities to shine. It's a color that I didn't expect to catch on so fast, and I'm glad that I was wrong. I even love mint nail polish. This color was all over the runways last fall [in spring collections] and now it's all over the clothing racks in every store. And you know what, it didn't get too popular too fast, so it's still trendy. I like that it's under control.
Add a belt or even a lacy material over mint and you've got an instant hit. Even without these add ons, mint-colored chiffon dresses are simple, chic and sophisticated. Not to mention they're a personal favorite of mine. Pair a mint dress with the right shoes, preferable wedges but that's just my opinion, and you'll look like a superstar. And no, ladies, mint isn't just for young girls, it's for anyone! Since when has color been limited to one age group? Never. So drop that excuse, add some color to your wardrobe, and jump on the mint bandwagon that's sweeping the fashion world.
Remember, "The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!”
